Proposal Stories

My wife's best friend introduced me to Medawar Jewelers. My wife, Peggy, and her best friend, Kathy, prior to our engagement had been shopping for engagement rings. They had been doing this for some time to get an idea of what they each would like in a ring when that wonderful day arrived. They had been to countless jewelry stores and none of the engagement rings they saw really made them tingle inside with excitement the way a diamond engagement ring should make a woman feel. That changed when they finally stepped into Medawar Jewelers one day. That day changed their lives forever. At Medawar Jewelers, both Peggy and Kathy found the rings that ultimately would find there way on to their fingers in marriage proposals. When I knew in my heart I was ready to propose to Peggy, I had no clue about jewelry, let alone what kind of ring I wanted to purchase for her. What I did know is that I wanted this moment to be memorable for all time. I wanted the ring, as well as the proposal, to say a resounding, "I love you, and I want the whole world to know that I want you to be my wife". Thank God, Peggy and Kathy did their homework prior to that moment because it was Kathy who helped me see the light without wasting my time in a chain jewelry store trying to find a quality ring for my bride to be. I discussed my plans to propose with Kathy, and she told me about the rings her and Peggy had already picked out for the big day at Medawar Jewelers. I feel it makes all the difference giving a woman what she already has her heart set on, so there was no other option than going to Medawar Jewelers. Kathy went with me to show me the ring, and WOW - What a ring it was! Stunning is the only word that comes to mind to describe the ring I would purchase and place on the finger of my bride to be. When I saw the ring, I knew it was the one even if Peggy hadn't already picked it out prior to that moment. When the day I asked her to be my wife came, there was no doubt in her mind and no hesitation in her response when she saw the ring that she had searched so hard to find starring at her from the exquisitely wrapped Medawar Jewelers box. The expression on her face said it all, and my heart rejoiced that I did the right thing by trusting her best friend to help me with one of the biggest decisions of my life. Jewelry Stories

I had no idea that I was getting such an extravagant gift for my graduation. I figured the party was a gift enough from my parents and didn’t expect or really want anything else. Turns out it was my dad’s idea to get me something special, so my mother and him took a trip to Medawar Jewelers. They knew just something ordinary wouldn’t do for me; I’m picky about my jewelry and like things that are different that what everyone else has. Fortunately, my parents knew this and that’s what made them go to Medawars in the first place. The earrings are so special to me, not only because of what they stand for and why I got them, but also because of how I got them. I will always treasure them and think of that special time whenever I put them on. —Theresa |

I’ll never forget when
I got my first pair of REAL diamond earrings. Although I have
a lot of nice jewelry, they were the first important piece I
received. It was the night of my college graduation
party. I was still upstairs, trying to hurry and finish
getting ready since the guests were starting to arrive. My
sister started calling me to come downstairs to look at something
and I kept yelling that I was trying to get ready and leave me
alone. But she was adamant, so I finally came downstairs with
my hair half done and in my slippers. “WHAT? What is so
important that I need to see?” I remember yelling. My parents
and sister and some of the early guests were all standing around the
cake, so I took a look. Nothing special, the usual
congratulations and best wishes you see on any graduation
cake. I was just about say “THIS? THIS is what you made me
come down for?” when something caught the light and my eye.
Sitting on the cake were a pair of diamond earrings. Not the
typical diamond studs, but a pair of hoops that were twisted and so
unique in design. They were exactly what I didn’t know I
wanted. I loved them and started crying
immediately.
